Prediction of Urinary Tract Infection in Neonates with Unexplained Indirect Hyperbilirubinemia

Background: Neonates with urinary tract infection (UTI) are susceptible to higher rates of morbidity and mortality, specifically when presented hyperbilirubinemia. Screening for UTIs in jaundiced neonates is a cost-effective strategy. The aims this study were investigate the pattern UTI (prevalence, etiology, antimicrobial agents) admitted NICU unexplained indirect hyperbilirubinemia, as well identify early predictors order reduce present long-term consequences patients.
 . Methods: A cross-sectional hospital-based that included 140 diagnosed hyperbilirubinemia first 4 weeks life. questionnaire was applied obtain demographic clinical data. number laboratory parameters assessed examination.
